Everyone should be able to grow an app.
For decades, building software has been locked behind code. Fewer than one in a hundred people can write it. GrowApps changes that. You describe what you want in your own words, and a small crew of AI agents designs it, builds it, adds sign-in, a database and payments, and puts it live.
Why we exist
Building apps stopped being a developer activity.
The people who want software and the people who can write it were never the same people. The tools finally caught up with the first group.

September 2025
A thesis at NTUA
GrowApps starts as Kostis's diploma thesis in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, titled "Agentic System for Application Development". The question: can a crew of AI agents take one sentence from a person and return a working app with the real plumbing a product needs? The proof of concept works well enough to keep going.

February 2026
Third place, and a business plan
The project takes third place and a 2,500 euro prize at the first NTUA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Challenge. The same month it joins Lab2Market as Team 26 and the Big Pi Ventures track, writes its first business plan and interviews 50 potential customers, 30 of them in person.

Spring 2026
Two founders, first users
Olga Kontakioti, also from ECE at NTUA, joins as co-founder for users and growth. The builder opens to people outside the university, and the first apps built by strangers from a single sentence go live.

June 2026
Marketing gets an owner
Rami Murad joins to run marketing, so that the founder can stay on the product and the people using it.

Summer 2026
A company, and a goodbye for now
GrowApps P.C. is incorporated in Greece. Olga steps back to begin her PhD. GrowApps applies to the EIC Accelerator and keeps shipping: working apps, live previews, apps published to the stores.

Today
Small, early, and honest about it
People have described apps to GrowApps in Greek, Portuguese, Polish, English, Chinese and Spanish. Tutors, pilots, musicians and residence managers have built and published theirs. We are a small team in Athens and we say so.

The people.
Panagiotis Konstantinos Kakkavas
Founder and CEO. Goes by Kostis.
Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (2025), computer science and robotics track. He wrote the thesis that became GrowApps and leads the product and the engineering. Alongside his studies he worked as a machine learning engineer on research and development, serving models in production. Before that he coordinated the computer vision work of the IEEE NTUA drone team.
