Use case

How to make a bakery pre-order app with AI

A bakery pre-order app takes orders before you bake, not after. Customers pick from your menu or build a custom cake, choose a pickup day you still have room on, and pay a deposit. GrowApps builds it from a plain description of your menu and your rules, as a native iPhone and Android app and a web link you can post in your WhatsApp status.

The problem

What goes wrong without an app.

Cake orders arrive as voice notes and photos at midnight. You scroll back through chats to find who wanted "the chocolate one with pink writing" for Friday. On a holiday weekend you say yes to more cakes than your oven can bake, and half of the custom orders were never paid in advance. You want orders to arrive in one place, complete, for a day you have room for.

What to include

The screens a bakery pre-order app needs.

  • A menu of breads, pastries and cakes with photos, sizes and prices
  • A custom cake form: size, flavour, filling, the message on top and a reference photo
  • A pickup date picker that hides days you are full or closed
  • An order summary with the deposit due now and the balance due at pickup
  • An order board for you, grouped by bake day
  • An order status the customer can check: received, baking, ready

Try it yourself

A prompt you can paste into GrowApps.

This is a realistic starting prompt, not a placeholder. Change the names, numbers and details to your own before you use it.

Build a pre-order app for my home bakery, Doce Ana, in Belo Horizonte. Menu: a box of 25 brigadeiros for R$45, carrot cake with chocolate for R$60, and custom birthday cakes in 1 kg, 2 kg and 3 kg. For a custom cake the customer chooses flavour, filling and the text on top, and can upload a reference photo. Orders close 48 hours before pickup, and I can bake at most 8 cakes a day. Pickup only, Tuesday to Saturday. Custom cakes need a 50% deposit. Show my Pix key on the payment screen. Give me an order board grouped by pickup day.

What GrowApps sets up

The parts you would otherwise wire up by hand.

An orders database with a daily limit

Each order is stored with its day, items, custom details and photo, and the daily limit is checked before a new order is accepted.

Photo uploads

Customers attach a reference photo to a custom cake. Photos are stored in the cloud, up to 50 MB each, next to the order.

Deposits

Card deposits go through a Stripe payment link you connect, where Stripe is available. Otherwise the app shows your Pix key, UPI ID or bank details, and you mark the deposit as received on the order board.

Sign in for you, guest orders for customers

You sign in to the order board. Customers can order as guests, or make an account to reorder their favourites.

Honest limits

What a first build will not get right.

A menu, a custom cake form with a photo, a date picker with a daily limit and an order board are a normal first build. Prices that change with every option (fondant adds a fixed amount, each extra tier adds more) need a careful second pass, and you should check a few totals by hand. Delivery fees by distance and live driver tracking are a separate, heavier job.

Cost

How long it takes and what it costs.

Expect about 4 credits and usually 10 to 20 minutes for the first build, after you approve the design. Swapping a photo or a price on the menu is a small change and usually costs a fraction of a credit. Pricing rules for custom cakes are the part most bakers return to, and a rule that touches every order costs more than a wording fix. After a first build on Standard, 16 of the month's 20 credits are left for that work.

The free plan gives 1 credit a day, up to 10 a month, with no card, which suits small changes. Standard is 20 US dollars a month for 20 credits, with a 7 day free trial (card required) and a first month of 15 dollars; a first build runs on that trial. Pro is 200 a month for 300 credits.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before building a bakery pre-order app.

Can I limit how many cakes I take per day?

Yes. Tell GrowApps your daily limit and your closed days, and the date picker stops offering a day once it is full.

Can customers upload a photo of the cake they want?

Yes. A photo upload on the custom cake form is part of a normal first build, and you see the photo next to the order.

I do not have Stripe. Can I still take deposits?

Yes, by hand. The app shows your Pix key, UPI ID or bank details, and the order waits as deposit pending until you mark it paid.

Can I share the bakery app on WhatsApp?

Yes. Every app gets a web link, so you can post it in your status or send it in a chat, and customers order without installing anything.

Describe your bakery pre-order app and see it built.

GrowApps plans it, builds it and gives you a live preview the same day.
