Use case
How to build a portfolio app with AI
A portfolio's whole job is to show your work clearly and make it easy to get in touch. GrowApps builds that from a description of your work and how you want it organized, giving you a real gallery, a contact form that actually sends, and a live app you can put your own name on the same day.
What to include
The screens a portfolio app needs.
- A gallery or project grid, organized by category or date
- A project detail screen with images and a short writeup
- An about screen with your bio and skills
- A contact form that reaches your email or a booking link
- A resume or case study download, if you want one
Try it yourself
A prompt you can paste into GrowApps.
This is a realistic starting prompt, not a placeholder. Change the names, numbers and details to your own before you use it.
Build a portfolio app for me, a freelance photographer named Elena Papas. Show a gallery grid split into 3 categories: weddings, portraits and events, with each project opening to a larger image set and a short description. Add an about page with my bio and a contact form that emails me when someone submits it, plus a link to book a session.
What GrowApps sets up
The parts you would otherwise wire up by hand.
Sign in, only if you want client accounts
Most portfolios do not need visitor sign in at all, but a client login can be added if you sell private galleries.
A projects database
Every project, image set and description is stored, so adding new work later is a chat message, not a rebuild.
Payments, if you sell prints or bookings
Stripe can be connected for print sales or paid session bookings if that is part of your business.
A live link
The portfolio is live at a shareable link the moment the preview is ready, ready to put on a business card.
Ready for Google Play
If you want an installable app rather than just a website, GrowApps prepares the file Google Play asks for and walks you through the store steps.
Honest limits
What a first build will not get right.
A gallery, project pages and a working contact form are a normal first build. Heavy image galleries with hundreds of full resolution photos benefit from thinking about load time, and GrowApps will suggest compressing or paging large sets rather than loading everything at once. Selling prints through a print on demand supplier is a specific integration that takes a bit more back and forth than the portfolio itself.
Cost
What building this costs in credits.
A first build like this uses about 4 credits on average. New accounts get starter credits plus 1 free credit a day, up to 10 a month, no card required. Standard is 20 US dollars a month for 20 credits, Pro is 200 a month for 300, and unused credits roll over for a month.
Frequently asked questions
What people ask before building a portfolio app.
Do visitors need to sign in to see my portfolio?
No, unless you want private client galleries. A public portfolio is normally open to anyone with the link.
Can the contact form actually send me an email?
Yes. Describe that when you build the app and GrowApps wires the form to send to your email address.
Can I add new projects myself later without asking a developer?
Yes. Open the build workspace, describe the new project and the images, and GrowApps updates the gallery and the live app.
Describe your portfolio app and see it built.
GrowApps plans it, builds it and gives you a live preview the same day.
