How to make a salon booking app with AI

A salon booking app lets a client pick a service, pick a stylist and take a real free slot without messaging you first. With GrowApps you describe your services, prices, staff and hours in plain words, and AI agents plan, design, build and test the app. It runs natively on iPhone and Android, and as a web link you can put in your Instagram bio.

The problem

What goes wrong without an app.

Your phone buzzes all day with "are you free at 4?" and you answer between clients. Two people get told the same slot. Someone books a colour for Saturday and never comes, and a chair sits empty for two hours. You do not need a big salon system. You need a page where clients see real free times for the stylist they like, and a small deposit that makes them turn up.

What to include

The screens a salon booking app needs.

  • A service menu with duration and price, grouped by hair, nails or beard
  • A stylist picker with a photo and the days each person works
  • A slot picker that only offers times long enough for the service
  • A booking confirmation the client can view, cancel or move
  • A day view for the salon: who is in which chair, and when
  • A client list with visit history and notes such as colour formulas

Try it yourself

A prompt you can paste into GrowApps.

This is a realistic starting prompt, not a placeholder. Change the names, numbers and details to your own before you use it.

Build a booking app for my salon, Studio Meera, in Pune. Services: haircut 45 minutes 600 rupees, hair colour 120 minutes 2,500 rupees, beard trim 20 minutes 250 rupees. Three stylists: Meera works Tuesday to Sunday, Arjun and Kavya work Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm. A client picks a service, then a stylist or "anyone", then a free slot in the next 14 days, and confirms with name and phone number. Colour bookings need a 500 rupee deposit. Add a button that opens WhatsApp to the salon. Give me a staff screen with today's bookings per stylist and a client list with notes.

What GrowApps sets up

The parts you would otherwise wire up by hand.

Sign in for staff, guest booking for clients

Staff sign in with email and password to see the day view and client notes. Clients book with a name and phone number, or make an account to see past visits.

Deposits

Card deposits go through a Stripe payment link you connect. Stripe is not open to businesses in every country, so check stripe.com/global first. Without it, the app shows your UPI, Pix or bank details and you confirm the deposit yourself.

A WhatsApp button

A button that opens a WhatsApp chat with the salon is a plain link, so it works from the first build.

Reminders

A new booking shows in the staff view the moment it is saved. Automatic push or SMS reminders are not set up for you; ask in the chat and GrowApps tells you what is possible for your app.

Honest limits

What a first build will not get right.

Services, stylists, real free slots and a staff day view are a normal first build. Salon rules such as "colour needs 15 minutes free after it" or one stylist working on two clients while colour develops take extra rounds of the conversation. Syncing with Google Calendar or a salon system you already pay for is a heavier integration. Before you share the link, book a few fake appointments yourself and try to take the same slot twice.

Cost

How long it takes and what it costs.

The first version is usually ready 10 to 20 minutes after you approve the design, and uses about 4 credits. Small changes, such as a new price or a different colour, usually cost a fraction of a credit. Bigger additions for a salon, such as deposits, a second branch or client notes, cost more because the agents write and test more code. Standard's 20 monthly credits cover the first build and leave most of the month for changes like these.

The free plan gives 1 credit a day, up to 10 a month, with no card, which suits small changes. Standard is 20 US dollars a month for 20 credits, with a 7 day free trial (card required) and a first month of 15 dollars; a first build runs on that trial. Pro is 200 a month for 300 credits.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before building a salon booking app.

Can clients choose a specific stylist?

Yes. Describe your stylists and the days they work, and the slot picker only offers times that stylist is free. Add an "anyone" option if you also want the first free person.

How does a salon app reduce no-shows?

Ask for a deposit on long services. With Stripe connected, the client pays it when they book. Where Stripe is not available, the app shows your payment details and keeps the booking as waiting until you confirm the money arrived.

Does it work for a barber shop with walk-ins?

Yes. Ask for a walk-in queue next to bookings: people join the list from a tablet at the door and see their place, while booked clients keep their times.

Is it a real app or just a website?

Both. GrowApps builds one Flutter app that runs natively on iPhone and Android and also as a web link, so clients can book from Instagram without installing anything.

Describe your salon booking app and see it built.

GrowApps plans it, builds it and gives you a live preview the same day.
